Henry Cejudo re-enters USADA pool, hints at Volkanovski Fight

According to former UFC middleweight title contender Chael Sonnen, Henry Cejudo has re-entered the USADA testing pool, ahead of a potential UFC comeback fight.

Cejudo joined Chael Sonnen last week at Eagle FC, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s MMA promotion, and it seems the two MMA celebrities had a lot to talk about

“I asked him point blank, ‘Henry for sure, are you coming back?’” “He said ‘Chael, I’m in the USADA pool, I’m training twice a day, I’m ready to go. I want Volkanovski.

Cejudo has previously hinted at a potential combeack on Twitter, so this news is not coming out of thin air.

Dana White has continued to shut down claims that a Cejudo v Volkanovski featherweight title bout could happen, without Cejudo first having a few fights.

This guy’s retired; he’s been off for how many years now? He wants to come in and fight Alexander Volkanovski?… For Cejudo to retire and think he should just be able to come in and jump into any weight division and take on the Champion – It’s not how it works

However, it wouldn’t be the first time he has allowed a former fighter to come back to an immediate title shot: McGregor v Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 & GSP v Bisping at UFC 217 being prime examples. If the star power is there, Dana will put on the fight.

Cejudo’s last fight was at UFC 249 in 2020, when we TKO’d bantamweight royalty, Dominick Cruz. He “retired” immediately in his post-fight interview.
