The UFC’s Bantamweight division was created in 2010, when the UFC bought out and absorbed the WEC (a promotion famous for producing some of the world’s best ‘light weight’ fighters).
The Bantamweight division has since produced some of the sport’s greatest fighters, such as; Dominick Cruz, Henry Cejudo, TJ Dillashaw & Petr Yan.
The Bantamweight division has always put on spectacular fights, such as Dillashaw v Cruz, Cruz v Garbrandt and many more.
The UFC rankings are made to determine who the most elite fighters are, in every UFC weight class.
