Brazil has always had their fair share of representation in UFC. Top Brazilian athletes such as Anderson Silva and Charles Jose Aldo have climbed to the rank of UFC Champion and etched their name into MMA history.
Brazilian MMA fighters have been at the forefront of UFC competition all the way through the promotion’s history. Royce Gracie, who competed at UFC 1, essentially brought BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) into modern MMA.
Anderson Silva, who joined UFC when he was over 30, went on a dominant reign as UFC Middleweight Champion and still holds the record for longest time as a UFC Champion.
More recently, Charles Oliveira, who comes from the favelas of Brazil, has transformed himself into one of the greatest UFC Lightweights of all time since beating; Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, Michael Chandler, Kevin Lee & Tony Ferguson.
Not all of the best Brazilian MMA fighters have managed to claim UFC gold, but a lot of them have climbed the pile, and managed to call themselves UFC Champions.
