In 2003, 10 years after the creation of UFC, the UFC Hall Of Fame was created. It is there to honor MMA personalities and competitors.
Because the UFC promotion bought Pride FC, Strikeforce & WEC, the Hall Of Fame includes fights, and fighters, from those promotions. Although those promotions are no longer in existence, their fights and personalities live on through the UFC Hall Of Fame.
In 2015, the UFC had a major overhaul of their HoF. They decided to split the hall into 4 separate wings. It also meant that new inductees would be added to the hall, every July, at an event in Las Vegas during international fight week.
