UFC’s Featherweight weight class was the divisional home of Conor McGregor when he made his famous run to the title in 2015 and became a UFC Champion.
Before McGregor jumped on the UFC Featherweight scene, there was one man who was the undisputed king of the Featherweights, that man was Jose Aldo. Jose Aldo was the UFC’s first and only Featherweight champion for 5 long years. He was famous for his lightning quick hand-speed, his devastating leg kicks and his unwavering takedown defense. He was a puzzle that no-one could figure out, because his MMA game was so well-rounded. Some people believed that he was undefeatable.
However, It was none other than the notorious Conor McGregor who dethroned him in 2015, with a famous 13 second knockout of Jose Aldo. This broke a UFC record for the shortest title fight in the promotion’s history.
Since that night, the featherweight division has become more open, with new UFC champions emerging.
